Reports To:

Quality Manager or General Manager of Corporate Supplier Quality Development (SQD)

Description:

The Supplier Quality 4M Engineer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and development of the 4M process for the supply base.  The SQ4ME facilitates supplier improvement activities, monitors supplier performance analysis, and conducts Tier N Audits to develop and maintain supplier 4M change management process. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the implementation and maintenance of the 4M Change Management process with the supply base.
  • Performs 4M Change Management audits
  • Evaluate the responses to audit findings for acceptability of corrective actions or future follow up.
  • Issue corrective actions to improve supplier Audit result through the use of the PDCA process.
  • Provide Gap analysis for supplier development and evaluate progress throughout the development cycle.
  • Facilitates the monthly supplier submission of planned and unplanned changes.
  • Facilitates the change management process for Supplier Quality Development
  • Facilitates Process Change Request (PCR) and Facility Site Change Request (FSCR) with the supply base.
  • Issue corrective actions (8D) to suppliers for not implementing or not following the 4M process.
  • Tracks outsourced tooling and gauge concerns.
  • Interact with external customers, internal customers, and suppliers in a business like manner.
  • Meets quality and quantity levels of assigned work, housekeeping, and safe work practices.
  • Generate reports, graphs, and charts as needed.
  • Oversees data collection and interpretation to coordinate improvement efforts with suppliers.
  • Monitor and enforce ISO/IATF 16949 & ISO 14001 policies and procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy of all documentation.
  • Conducts 4M Change Management, 8D, and PPAP training to the supply base.
  • Perform supplier audits outside the above scope with approval of Corporate Quality Manager or above.

 

Education

  • Completed 4 year College degree or equivalent work related experience.

 

Experience:

  • 6 years experience in a Manufacturing facility in the fields of Process Engineer, IT, or Quality

 

Skills:

  • Strong mathematical skills, written skills, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and good organizational skills.
  • Capable of overall professionalism in a business environment.

 

 

Training Specific to Position:

  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Internal and second-party audit experience
  • Lead Auditor Training (preferred)
  • Customer Specific Audit training as needed

 

Other

  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time with limited prior notice
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift.
