Reports to: Plant Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the activities of production managers, supervisors, group leaders and production technicians
  • Coordinate with production managers, supervisor and production control schedulers for efficient production process schedules and follows through to verify completion as required to meet customer requirements
  • Assure the efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the manufacturing system
  • Provide clear direction and strong leadership role in resolving operational problems with documented and proper "5-WHY" root cause analysis, quick corrective actions implementation & verification of effectiveness
  • Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment
  • Lead efforts of implementing VA and other cost reduction activities to meet company expectations
  • Assure all TS/ISO standards are clearly understood and being achieved in all areas of responsibility
  • Set annual budget and develop and approve expenditures
  • Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances
  • Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records
  • Maintain positive relationship with external customers
  • Meet Plant Metrics including Safety, Quality and Delivery as directed by the Plant Manager
  • Make OEE targets
  • Motivate and manage Team's to accomplish P & L bottom line requirements
  • Participate in ongoing performance management including but not limited to evaluations, recommendations of wage increases and necessary corrective action
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Five or more years of management related experience in a fast-paced, automotive Tier 1 environment
  • Five or more years of experience in a Manufacturing environment in a managerial position
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Act regulations

Skills:

  • Project planning.
  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment.  The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands:

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may also be required to work in hot temperatures.
