1.  Reports To:

Corporate Quality Manager or Corporate Quality General Manager


2.  Description:

Reporting to the Corporate Quality Management, the Corporate Supplier Engineer is responsible for supplier development, focused on supplier improvement activities, supplier performance analysis, and Tier N Audits.  In the absence of the Corporate Quality Manager, the Corporate Supplier Engineer will assume duties for his areas and communicate concerns to the assigned or acting Manager or above.


3.  Responsibilities:

  • Issue corrective actions to improve supplier Audit result through the use of "8D".
  • Provide Gap analysis for supplier development and evaluate progress throughout the development cycle.
  • Evaluate the results of "8D" responses to Audit findings for acceptability of corrective actions or future follow up.
  • Interact with external customers, internal customers, and suppliers in a business like manner.
  • Meets quality and quantity levels of assigned work, housekeeping, and safe work practices.
  • Coordinates supplier rejected material movement with Production Departments, Production Control, Receiving Inspection, and Suppliers; for those supplier who are considered as special risk to the organization.
  • Generate reports, graphs, and charts as needed.
  • Oversees data collection and interpretation to coordinate improvement efforts with suppliers.
  • Assists receiving inspection personnel with inspection of materials/products for aesthetic and dimensional accuracy.
  • Provides M-Tek, Inc. quality expectations for purchased materials/products to suppliers.
  • Monitor and enforce ISO/TS 16949 & ISO 14001 policies and procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy of all documentation.
  • Perform supplier audits outside the above scope with approval of Corporate Quality Manager or above.


4.  Education

  • Completed 4 year College degree or equivalent work related experience.


5.  Experience:

  • 6 years experience in a Manufacturing facility in the fields of Process Engineer, IT, or Quality


6.  Skills:

  • Strong mathematical skills, written skills, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and good organizational skills.
  • Capable of overall professionalism in a business environment.



7.  Training Specific to Position:

  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Completed Lead Auditor Training, and VW Supplier Audit Training


8.  Other

  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time with limited prior notice
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift.
