REPORTS TO: Corporate Supply Chain Manager             


DESCRIPTION: Improve supplier quality, delivery and costs working toward process optimization to achieve company goals. The scope of this position encompasses incorporating data analysis from varied sources to identify suppliers requiring development.



  • Improve supplier performance (i. e. quality, delivery and costs) through process optimization using process analysis and development tools by driving continuous improvement within supplier operations through deployment of development plans.
  • Establish and maintain a qualified and preferred supply base.
  • Assess and communicate technical risks and mitigation associated with the supply base.
  • Involve and integrate suppliers to extend our technical capabilities.
  • Designs and maintain form for recording, evaluating and reporting quality of supplier products.
  • Implement supplier scorecard and work with supply base to improve performance.
  • Create development plans for key suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier quality Approved Vendor List and generates supplier performance reports.
  • Develop and initiate methods and procedures for performing supplier surveys.
  • Perform and coordinate audits to validate supplier s processes and capabilities.
  • Works with suppliers on value engineering activities.
  • Work content requires extensive travel throughout the country as well as frequent driving to supplier facilities for source inspections, surveys and other required activities.
  • Administers Supplier Corrective Action system and works with suppliers to resolve/correct quality problems.
  • Performance of any other related SCM duties as required by Kasai North America management


  • Industrial Engineering Degree and 1-3yrs. of work experience in Supplier Development



  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong self-management/project management skills.
  • Practical knowledge of Manufacturing and Supply Chain



  • Must be able to travel up to 50-75%.



This job operates in an office and sometimes in a plant manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment.  The noise levels in the manufacturing production environment are elevated but are within OSHA standards.



The employee frequently is required to sit and occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
