REPORTS TO:

Manager or General Manager or VP 

DESCRIPTION:

Maintains job responsibilities of programs assigned along with any additional responsibilities assigned by immediate supervisor.     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reference all the qualities from Buyer I & II Responsibilities
  • Work group teacher and trainer Able to explain assignments, difficult issues, complex quote analysis, specific commodities, etc...
  • Liaison between buyers and management Understands the issues from both sides and is able to support company goals and keep the work group happy
  • Leads by example with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic
  • Team leader of the work group Has a since of responsibility for the entire work groups job performance
  • Supports their Manager's job when their Manager is out for any reason or working on other assignments
  • Good written communication skills Ability to make Presentation Materials, Re-sourcing Proposals, Complex Business Cases Can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Reviews / manages sourcing strategy, supplier panel establishment, cost reduction strategy, cost reduction performance calculations & reconciliation, material economics, foreign exchange, benchmarking, PDCT, etc...
  • Considers a plan of action or process to complete assignments for the group Keeps up with assignments Insures that assignments are done on time Follows up for the group
  • Reviews day-to-day KPI's for workgroup, ie purchasing queues , Octane, PDCT, MPA agreements & negotiation, supplier financials, etc...
  • Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures
  • Can effectively communicate with Kasai Japan & suppliers located in other countries
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer

Education:

  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience

Experience:             

  • Three years or more of purchasing, engineering, logistics or manufacturing related experience

Skills:

  • Has demonstrated 2~3 years of competent performance in job assignments
  • Above average computer skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Good communication skills, ability to express self in a clear concise manner, brief, but able to get message across
  • Fluent in the English language, oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to train others and positively promote continuous improvement

Other:

  • Prior experience in automotive field
  • Available to travel up to 20%

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

 

Physical Demands:

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may also be required to work in hot temperatures
