Reports To: QMS Manager


Job Description: Maintains the QMS/EMS document database for internal and external controlled documents. Reviews changes to documents to ensure the QMS is not negatively impacted and to ensure the requirements of the standards, Customer Requirements and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) are met. Coordinates changes to all others documents impacted by the change.



  • Assigns control numbers and revision numbers and maintains control of QMS documents in document and data control database.
  • Reviews revised organizational changes for possible impact on procedural responsibilities and initiates procedural changes as necessary.
  • Reviews policy and procedural revisions for congruity with IATF 16949, QMS, CSR's, KPS, MC-NA, and other system requirements of KNA.
  • Reviews revised work instructions, and forms for possible impact to other KNA documentation and makes appropriate changes to maintain continuity.
  • Maintains current revisions of external documents (i.e. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Customer's Supplier Quality Assurance Manuals, other standards and documents as applicable) and reviews any changes to external documents with the QMS Manager for impact to the QMS system and coordinates the required changes with the appropriate management.
  • Manages the disposition and archive of obsolete documents.
  • Maintains Customer Specific Requirements matrix and updates as needed.
  • Develops and updates databases, procedures, work instructions and forms, as requested.
  • Coordinates closure of corrective actions accurately and completely for future analysis.
  • Coordinates documents for all KNA locations.
  • Performs desktop audits to ensure document control security.
  • Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies, and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer.



  • College Degree Preferred, High School or GED required.



  • Two years' experience in working with internal quality management systems and supporting standards (ISO 9001, TS 16949, IATF 16949)



  • Above average computer, mathematical, grammatical and analytical skills.
  • Windows operating system and network knowledge.
  • Simultaneous use of software packages.
  • Basic typing proficiency


Training Specific to Placement in Position:

Internal Auditor training to IATF 16949



  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Multi-task with interruptions.
  • Must be able to travel with limited notice.
  • Capable of working any assigned shift
  • Able to work independently
